If you are interested in this topic – you are likely to become the owner of a new apartment or want to change my life and decided to start with the design of its interior.

Design – is a conscious design, based on knowledge of materials, tools and technologies, with the addition of creativity and intuition. This article will help you understand the detailed design process, and for the convenience of interior design is divided into five parts.

Part One

Interior Layout

The first step is to compile a list of things that we need for a comfortable stay. The list should comprise furniture, audio and video equipment, plumbing equipment, household electrical appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, etc.) here is to add air conditioning or forced-air and exhaust ventilation if there was a need.

This is followed by development planning decision in the deployment of items from the established list. Typically, the apartment has its own characteristics, including the design, which give us a hint for the correct planning decision.

It also should take into account ease of moving around the apartment and, more importantly, do not stand in the way natural light, which should easily penetrate into the farthest corners of the apartment.

Once we have developed a plan of our apartment with furniture and equipment, you can go to the next part of interior design, namely, the artificial lighting.

Part Two

Candlelight

Best of all in the same room to host multiple light sources, it gives us an opportunity for a few seconds to change the general atmosphere of the room – from bright and festive, to quiet and intimate. Suppose the case of a studio layout, where space is divided into zones: the living room, dining room and kitchen – with lighting by turning, for example, kitchen and dining area we obey all the space illuminated area living room. So we should not forget about the switches: with proper selection and placement, they are significantly easier to us lighting control. For example, we need to go through the corridor to the bedroom through the checkpoint room – using the transition switch, we can turn the light on in one place, but off in another. With dimmer, we can use the same light as the main light source or as a night light, by reducing or increasing the luminous flux.

Part Three

Room acoustics

Often, going into an empty room, we hear how our actions, sounds repeatedly reflected from the walls, floor and ceiling, thus causing us discomfort during intercourse.

Get rid of the echo in the room, helps furniture, but what if the big room, and furniture a little or it is built into the wall. There are two solutions.

The first way – architectural, here we attach to the walls of plasticity with niches, cascades, relief, the ceiling can also uchuvstvovat in creating good acoustics, it can be decorated with caissons.

The path of the second – decoration, here will help us pictures on the walls, curtains and draperies, carpets on the floor and finishing materials that absorb sound.

Part Four

Finishing

Finishing materials known materials used to decorate ceilings, walls and floor. In their choice should take into account not only the aesthetic and decorative qualities, but, above all, functionality, environmental friendliness, quality and durability.

If we want our interior is not in need of repairs over 10 years, then this should apply materials in accordance with their appointment.

The ceiling in a room with high humidity better to mount a gipsovolokno, walls and ceiling in the bathroom paint colors are not only resistant to water, but also to alkaline solutions, or to cover walls and floors with ceramic tiles. Parquet and solid wood is better to use in areas where there are no great differences of humidity, and in the hall better put on the floor or ceramic tiles with high mileage (4-5 grade).

Part Five

Stylistic decision

To create a harmonious interior space should take into account such things as coloristic general solution of the interior, the proportionality of all interior items in relation to man, composite decision walls, floor and ceiling creates the unity of the interior.

When choosing a stylistic decision should not be carried away by the latest trends in design. This is, firstly, it is not practical, since your interior will lose relevance and brightness fairly quickly, and you will think again about the changes.

And secondly, the modern fashion is very democratic, does not impose a rigid framework, providing complete freedom of your imagination. This way, you can create a practical and unique interior of any style, whether historical styles (classical, Empire, Art Nouveau, Baroque), the ethnic areas (country, Japanese, Provence, Mediterranean, Eastern), modern (techno, hi-tech, minimalism avant-garde). Perhaps you prefer a mixture of styles – eclecticism.

No matter in what style you stop your choice, the main thing that you were comfortable living in it.

Of course, this did not cover all aspects of design, but only the most important of them. There are quite a few minor points. Only the combined application of all knowledge, detailed and well thought-out study will allow you to create a truly interesting and unique interior that combines function, harmony and comfort.
